DPA3: Legacies of Resistance, Seeds of Freedom

This spring, Decarcerate PA is celebrating our three year anniversary. Over the last three years we've launched our three point platform to end mass incarceration in Pennsylvania, led numerous rallies and community events, met with elected officials, staged a civil disobedience action to stop prison construction, and marched over 100 miles from Philadelphia to Harrisburg to demand a people's budget, not a prison budget. We've changed the public discourse around prison expansion, witnessed the closure of two state prisons, and built an exciting network of allies in Philadelphia and across the state.
There is still so much work to be done, but we want to take some time to take stock of what we've accomplished, honor the legacies of resistance which inspire us, and dream big about the future of this movement. We also want an excuse to gather together all the wonderful people who have helped build Decarcerate PA for cake and comradeship.
So please, join us Friday May 9th for food, reflection, and celebration!
This event is free and open to the public. If you would like to make a donation in honor of Decarcerate PA's three years, you can do so at the event or by visiting http://decarceratepa.info/donate
