7 protesters arrested outside Graterford Prison in Montgomery County

Police arrested seven people who refused to disperse after a protest in front of the State Correctional Institution at Graterford.

The incident began around 6:40 a.m. Monday at the construction entrance to the prison on Route 73 in Skippack Twp., Montgomery County.

State police said 10 school-style desks were placed by the protesters in front of the construction entrance. Seven protesters were at the desks, along with an additional eight protesters standing.

Police said they ordered the protesters to disperse but they failed to do so.

The protesters were part of the group, 'Decarcerate PA' and had planned the protest at the prison,  police said.

Seven protesters were charged with criminal conspiraacy, criminal trespass, failure of disorderly persons to disperse upon official order and disorderly conduct.

Those arrested were:

Layne Hofman Mullett, 27; Jenna Samantha Peters-Golden, 27; Leana Antonia Cabral, 29, Erika Abigail Slaymaker, 23; Sean West Damon, 35; David Duncan Fischer, 41,  and Robin Emma Rose Markle, 26,all of Philadelphia.

All were arraigned and bail was set at 10% of $5,000.
