My name is David Peifer. Although I’m not a juvenile lifer, I was 24 when my crime happened. However, I maintain my innocence and have pursued unsuccessful appeals.
I have been incarcerated since my arrest in March of 1993. Next year I will have as many years behind these walls as I had as a “free” citizen. In those years I have been witness to many juveniles entering the system. It’s very saddening to see the despair this sentence brings to an individual.
On behalf of all Lifers, I personally thank you for your commitment to this fight. I am grateful for the effort and your compassion that drives you to tirelessly work toward this goal that would ultimately effect so many of us that you personally do not know. That is a true testament of your humanity.
I hope the Mother’s Day event is a success and the overall goal is achieved
P.S. Happy Mother’s Day to All the mother’s involved.
