Every month we receive hundreds of letters from prisoners across the state with requests for information, submissions to the newsletter and website, and contributions to developing our organizing strategies. Join us Saturday, December 17th* for a letter writing marathon to help us catch up on our mail and ensure that our work is informed and led by the ideas, experiences and wisdom of our members behind the walls.
This is a great opportunity for people who are interested in Decarcerate PA’s work to learn more about our campaigns, as well as help do the powerful movement building work of connecting with our comrades on the inside. We’ll be here from 11-3, and are encouraging folks to stop by anytime during that window. Letter writing takes place at the Institute for Community Justice at 1207 Chestnut Street on the second floor.
Can't make the marathon but want to help out? Help us buy stamps! Even just a $10 donation helps us send 20 letters! Donate online at http://decarceratepa.info/donate, or by mail at Decarcerate PA, PO Box 40764, Phila. PA 19107.
Any questions? Get in touch by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at 276-217-DEPA.
Hope to see you there!
*NOTE: letter writing is usually the 4th Saturday of every month, but we moved it up a week to accomodate the holidays.
