Tuesday May 14th, Decarcerate PA and our allies are holding a press conference to announce our plans to march all the way to Harrisburg to demand a People’s Budget, not a Prison Budget. While the state is breaking ground on two new prisons in Montgomery County, we will be “breaking ground” on our vision for a better Pennsylvania- a Pennsylvania that values education, healthcare, jobs and housing over locking people up.
Please join us to hear several powerful speakers address why they are taking this dramatic action to stop prison expansion in Pennsylvania.
Speakers include:
- Joshua Glenn, Decarcerate PA
- City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson
- Patricia Vickers, Human Rights Coalition
- Sara Mullen, American Civil Liberties Union of PA
- Jess H. Lee, DreamActivist PA
- Claire Galpern, Philadelphia Coalition Advocating for Public Schools
- Azeem Hill, Philadelphia Student Union
